For choosing a wrong side of life , a young man, Julius Odinakachi Obisie who joined the Gay Club in Abia state has put a hedge in his erstwhile easy going relationship with his father, Mr Dick Obisie, family and even his entire Umuode community in Ngwa land,Abia state.
Julius Odinakachi Obisie who was said to be a darling of his family hails from Umuode Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North L.G.A of Abia State,South Eastern Nigeria ,suddenly became an enemy of the family, especially his father, Dick, a devout Christian , when he joined the homosexuals’ group in Abia. Julius’ ordeal was reported to have began about October 28, 2019.
Our Abia state correspondent gathered that Julius fell out of love and care with his father when it was revealed that he is a gay.
Investigation revealed that homosexual act otherwise known as Sodomy in religious and Christians’ view is equally seen as a taboo in Umuode Nsulu in particular and entire Ngwa land in general.
A source disclosed that when Julius’ father noticed that his beloved son had joined the gay group which is against the law of the country and equally against his doctrine as a devout Christian,he decided to disown him.
The knowledge that Julius Odinakachi Obisie owned up before his dad of being a gay and his insistence to choose that style of life made his father, Dick gravely disillusioned and so dislike him to the point of deciding to hand him over to security operatives in Nigeria .
His father, the source explained went after him and wanted him to be arrested and committed to prison, saying he is not only a shame but a disgrace to the family and wanted to dent his integrity built over the years.
Our correspondent noted that because of Julius’ choice to be a homosexual, he was disassociated from the entire family including the Umuode Nsulu community youths association.
His father vowed to kill him and/or make sure he was arrested and jailed in line with the law against gay practice in Nigeria.
Founding himself in the eye of the storm,it was also gathered that Julius ran away from his family and no one in the community could give account of his whereabouts.
As at the time of this report, it was said that the whereabouts of Julius Obisie is not known.
Consequently, he was said to have been declared wanted and his photograph published in a local tabloid in a bid to track him down.
The newspaper publication was intended to let the public know that Julius Obisie had run foul of the law following his romance with the gay group. “Who ever sees him or knows his whereabouts should inform the nearest police station for Julius Odinaka Obisie’s arrest”.
